What is the trip planning process like for Public Exposure Leads to Expansion Experiences?
The Student Stakeholder organizes ongoing Public Experiences departing from Columbus, Ohio. These experiences include both local and national trips. You can find more information about each public experience on our Events Page. Students and families can register or join our waitlist for trips. We conduct two virtual information sessions prior to each trip to cover all relevant details, which will be provided following registration or after joining our waitlist. Please note that seats will not be reserved for those on the waitlist if registration fills all available slots.

What happens after I register for an experience?
After registration, we will send you a personalized trip agreement outlining the terms, conditions, and payment schedules for the trip. We will also provide instructions for your group’s registration process.

What is the planning process like for Private Exposure Leads to Expansion Experiences?
To begin, trip organizers contact The Student Stakeholder to request a private group tour. We will reach out to collect information regarding the trip, including dates, destination, and passenger breakdown. Our team will then personalize a trip itinerary to match the group’s specific wants and needs, providing a trip quote that reflects the itinerary's inclusions. We will collaborate to ensure the trip meets your students' desired outcomes.

Does The Student Stakeholder offer private or public tours?
We offer both private and public group tours. Private tours allow you to decide who travels with your group, with no other groups interfering. You will have complete control over your itinerary and provide your own chaperones. Public tours are offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, with all departures from Columbus, Ohio.

When is the latest I can plan a trip?
We recommend booking a trip 60-90 days before departure. However, depending on your needs, we may be able to assist with shorter notice. Please feel free to email or call us for more information.

Does The Student Stakeholder have passenger minimums?
Yes, the minimum number of travelers is generally based on vendor requirements, which typically require a minimum of 10 travelers to qualify as a group. This standard helps ensure a successful trip. We typically travel with 50-100 Passengers.

How are hotel accommodations arranged for Private Experiences?
Hotel availability is confirmed at the time of the group deposit. During the trip planning process, we will provide a quote that includes hotel accommodations. You can request a specific hotel for us to quote, if desired. Typically, students are accommodated in quads, and all chaperones will be assigned appropriate rooms based on your budget. During the planning process, we will discuss rooming preferences with you. Closer to the trip departure, we will request a rooming list, allowing you to decide who will share rooms. We will do our best to keep everyone on the same floor or wing and can request separate accommodations for male and female travelers, depending on hotel availability.

Do travelers need extra money for tips and gratuities?
All tips and gratuities are included in the trip cost. However, you may choose to tip additionally at your discretion. We also recommend budgeting for any additional spending, as we may visit shopping areas or students may want to purchase additional food items during the trip.

What are the dress codes?
Students are free to dress as they wish, but we will provide recommended attire based on the weather and itinerary. If certain schools or organizations have a dress code, they typically maintain that standard on the trip. Any questions regarding dress code should be directed to The Student Stakeholder staff.

What if my child loses an item on the trip?
We will do our best to inform students about safe travel practices. They will be encouraged to check for their belongings before leaving any location. If a student loses an item, they should notify the trip leader, who will assist in attempting to locate it. While we will make every effort to help, it is ultimately the student’s responsibility to keep track of their belongings. The Student Stakeholder, LLC is not responsible for any loss, stolen or damaged items.

Can I get in touch with my child?
Yes, If your student has a cell phone, you can text or call them during the experience. You may also arrange to call your student during designated free time. We provide daily updates regarding the itinerary to both students and families.

What happens if we are running late on the trip?
Running late can happen for various reasons, such as vendor delays or traffic. While we create itineraries that account for potential delays, we will handle timing logistics during the trip. If delays occur, we will make any necessary adjustments. It’s important for all participants to arrive at designated meeting points on time.

How are dietary restrictions handled?
When registering, there will be an opportunity to include any dietary restrictions. The Student Stakeholder staff will review these restrictions prior to the trip and confirm them with the meal vendors. During the trip, we will remind students to communicate their dietary needs before meals. In some instances, students may receive meal vouchers and will be encouraged to communicate their restrictions when choosing their meals.

What about safety on the trip?
Safety is our top priority. Students will receive color-coded bracelets and participate in multiple safety briefings. During free exploration, students will travel in groups with a Student Stakeholder Staff more or follow the buddy system. The group will not leave an attraction until at least two headcounts are conducted by a Student Stakeholder staff member. All staff members undergo background checks and have experience working with youth.

What should we consider regarding weather?
Please refer to our suggested packing list. We will do our best to adjust itineraries based on weather conditions, but some activities may be fixed. It’s important to check the weather forecast when packing and to bring essentials like an umbrella, sunscreen, layers, and closed-toed shoes.
